Nourish joins team at the Newquay Therapy Centre

NTC logoHow it is the last day of June I have no idea – where have the last couple of months gone? I’m sure I’m not alone when I say this (I even heard someone says it’s less than 6 months to Christmas now – as much as I love the festive season I definitely can’t get my head around that fact!).

Anyway, it’s been far too long since my last post – no excuses other than the usual – busy juggling being a working mum, helping lovely clients, and looking after my wonderful family.

I also met a lovely lady called Donna Smith who recently opened the Newquay Therapy Centre, and I’m pleased to announce that I have joined the team of therapists there, so that I can see clients for Nutrition & Wellbeing Coaching sessions, in the relaxed surroundings of the centre.

Being in Newquay, it is perfectly placed for combining a visit to see me and my colleagues, with a relaxing walk on one of the many beaches, and a stop at one of the lovely little cafes too – The Jam Jar being one of my favourites for a Matcha Latte or Green Smoothie.

I shall be holding a launch event at the Newquay Therapy Centre next month for anyone local (or down on holiday), so watch out for announcements on both my Facebook page and the Newquay Therapy Centre’s website.

You can read more about my Nutrition & Wellbeing packages here, and I am happy to be able to offer initial free 15 minute consultations at the centre too, so we can have a chat about how I can help you.

I’m really excited by this opportunity to work alongside a lovely bunch of people, and there are lots more plans to come…

Wishing you all a lovely rest of the week.

September arrives…

Towan Beach in Newquay
Towan Beach in Newquay

As I sit here writing this I can’t believe it’s the end of the summer holidays, especially since the weather is so glorious at the moment.

September often means a change of routine – going back to, or starting school, going back to work or just preparing for the Autumn ahead.

Now is therefore the perfect time to try something new (just like I did over the summer with body boarding for the first time – I’m hooked and love the surf! Quite chuffed too that my wetsuit is Nourish purple!!).  Why not add a little health boost into your day? Small steps can all add up to a big difference in time…Nourish wetsuit

Here’s a couple you could try: –

Drink a glass of water immediately after waking – your body becomes dehydrated whilst you sleep, so the sooner you can rehydrate the better. Even better, try some warm water with a slice of lemon & grated ginger – this will not only hydrate you, but also alkalise your body and kick start your metabolism for the day ahead.

Eat a decent breakfast – we are often in a rush in the mornings, but eating first thing will not only help your metabolism but will also provide you with energy, and avoiding you reaching for the biscuits before lunchtime. A good mix of slow release carbohydrates, healthy fats and protein will really give your energy levels a boost.

Healthy ideas include eggs, wholegrain, rye or home made gluten free nut & seed toast (recipe coming soon), avocado, salmon, nuts, seeds, healthy smoothies (sign up to my newsletter to receive a delicious recipe).

For now I’m sharing with you my Healthy Granola recipe, which is packed full of energy giving vitamins & minerals, alongside slow release carbs, healthy fats & protein and is also free of sugar.

I hope you enjoy!

Have a lovely day
